Holland Project Benefit Fashion Show

producing a fashion show benefitting a local non-profit

Tools & Materials:

sewing machine, fabric, fake trees

Takeaways:

a bias towards action in creating a larger scale project

After taking part in several larger scale fashion shows I wanted to try organizing my own. I chose the more intimate venue of Holland Project Reno as it was a smaller show and also wanted to make it more accessible to younger people. In addition, the proceeds from the show were all donated to the Eddy House, a non-profit dedicated to providing homeless, foster, and runaway youth with programs and services to allow them to reach their full potential. As the organizer I did everything from securing the venue, creating the playlist, decorating the runway, designing and making looks for the show, to reaching out to other designers in the community.
